I Looked Up and the Day Was Gone

Why I Started This Shop

Honestly, I wasn't sure I was going to write this.

It feels a little vulnerable to explain yourself on the internet. But I figure if you're here, reading this, you probably want to know who you're buying from — and that feels fair.

So here it is.

I work in tech. Have for years. And I'm good at it — or at least I was good at keeping up with it. But somewhere in the last couple of years, between the job and the kid and the general pace of everything, I looked up and realized I had basically disappeared from my own life.

My daughter was doing things. Growing. Saying funny things at dinner. And I was there, physically, but I was also always half-somewhere-else. Answering something. Preparing for something. Worrying about being left behind by the next thing — AI, automation, whatever was coming next.

I got tired of it. Not in a dramatic way. Just quietly, steadily tired.

I've always loved a certain kind of home. Not decorated, exactly — more like settled.

The kind of place where things are chosen because they're actually good, not because they were trending. Wooden things. Natural things. Things that feel like someone thought about them.

I started buying pieces like that for my own home. And it helped, in a way that surprised me. Slowing down to make something nice — a corner of a room, a shelf, a morning routine around a good mug — it turned out those things mattered to me more than I'd admitted.

That's basically how this shop started.

I'm not going to oversell it. It's small. It's new. I'm one person sourcing things I actually like and pricing them honestly.

Shipping
Everything ships from the US — no weeks-long waits.
Honest pricing
Fair margins. No inflated "sale" tricks.
If something's wrong
I'll fix it. That's not a policy — it's just how I operate.

I'm Chinese, the products come from China — that's not a secret. But everything is warehoused here in the States, and I stand behind what I sell.

I guess what I'm hoping for — and this might sound strange — is that this shop feels like something. Not a storefront. More like finding out a friend has good taste and occasionally tells you about it.

I don't know if that's possible on the internet. But I'd like to try.

Thanks for reading this far. It means something.
