See shipping policy See return policyThe body is a length of bamboo stalk, turned smooth and given a flat bamboo lid. The raised bands around the outside follow the shape of the stalk.
The lid sits snugly in the rim. It keeps loose leaf tea, nuts and whole spices together and out of the light - it is not an airtight seal.

Care
Wipe inside and out with a dry or barely damp cloth. Do not soak it or put it in the dishwasher. If it does get wet, leave the lid off until it is completely dry.
Questions
Is it good for matcha?
No. The inside is bare bamboo, not glazed, and fine powder clings to it. Use it for loose leaf tea, nuts or whole spices, and keep matcha in a smooth, sealed tin.
Is it airtight?
No. It is bamboo against bamboo, with no gasket. For tea you drink within a few weeks it is fine; for longer, leave the tea in its bag inside the canister.
How is it different from the olive wood canister set?
That one is a matched olive wood set on a storage base. This is a single bamboo canister, sold one at a time, in five heights.
