See shipping policy See return policyThe last twenty minutes before sleep are the ones that get away from you. One hand on the book, one on the mug, and something always has to be put down first. This folds open on the nightstand and takes all of it at once - the book propped at reading angle, the mug in its own well, the phone face-down in a slot where you cannot watch it light up.
Solid wood boards, edge-glued into two panels and joined with brass hinges, so it folds flat to 6.7 cm and stands back up without a screw, a catch or a tool. The tray is routed rather than assembled: a round well for a mug, a long slot for a phone, a shallow groove for a pen, and a cut-out that holds the thumb page holder when you are not wearing it.

Care
Wipe with a dry or barely damp cloth and dry it straight away. Use the well for a wet mug rather than setting it on the flat of the tray, because standing water marks bare wood. Out of direct sun and away from a radiator, the colour holds longer.
Questions
Will it hold a hardback open?
A paperback or a mid-weight hardback sits fine - the lip along the bottom of the panel catches the spine and the fold holds the angle. A large coffee-table book will overhang the 22 cm width and is too heavy for it.
Is this the same thing as your thumb page holder?
No, and you do not need both. The page holder slips over your thumb to keep a book flat in one hand; this props the whole book up so neither hand is holding it. One of those page holders comes in the tray here.
Does it work for a tablet?
Yes. The panel takes a tablet the same way it takes a book, and the phone slot stays free while it does.
Will mine look like the photos?
Close, not identical. The panels are cut from solid boards, so grain and tone run from honey to a darker brown, sometimes within one piece.
Styling Tip
