Salt you have to pinch is salt you can actually judge. A grinder gives you a guess; an open pot in reach of your left hand gives you control.
A turned olive wood cylinder with a fitted wooden lid, 5.1 inches tall and 3.1 inches across, wide enough at the mouth to get two fingers into without knocking it over.

Care
Wipe the inside with a dry cloth between refills rather than washing it out. If it does need washing, a barely damp cloth and an immediate dry; never soak it and never put it in the dishwasher. Keep it away from the steam directly above a hob, and re-oil with food-grade mineral oil if the wood looks dry.
Questions
Does the lid seal?
It is a fitted lid, not an airtight one. It keeps dust out and keeps the salt from spilling if it is knocked, but it will not stop humidity reaching the contents.
Will salt damage the wood?
Dry salt sitting in it is fine. Damp salt is the problem, since it holds moisture against the wood. Keep it away from the steam of a boiling pan and wipe it out dry between refills.
Can I keep sugar or spices in it instead?
Yes. Anything dry works. Strongly scented spices may leave a faint trace in the wood, so it is best to pick one job and keep to it.
Styling Tip
It is worth leaving out, which is the point of buying wood rather than plastic. See the rest of the kitchen wood in Olive Wood Kitchenware, or a woven cup to stand beside it in Handwoven Rattan.
Handmade from natural stock, so each keeper has its own grain and its own colour.
