See shipping policy See return policyFruit has to live somewhere. A bowl is the obvious answer, and the obvious answer is usually ceramic, usually white, usually the same one everybody already has. This is the other option: a shallow round basket coiled by hand from autumn vine rattan, warm where a bowl is cold.
No paint, no lacquer, no coating of any kind. Just rattan in the colour it grew, 7.1 inches across and 2 inches deep, wide enough for a few pears and shallow enough that nothing gets lost at the bottom.

Care
Dust it with a dry cloth, or a soft brush if the weave holds crumbs. A barely damp cloth is fine for a mark; dry it straight away. Keep it out of standing water and off a wet counter, because uncoated rattan takes on moisture and can soften or mould if it stays damp. Out of direct sun the natural tan holds its colour longer.
Questions
Can I put food straight in it?
Line it first. There is no sealant on this basket, so anything oily, wet or sticky soaks into the fibre. Whole fruit, bread in a cloth, or packaged snacks are fine as they are.
Will it hold its shape?
The tight coil weave is what gives it structure, and it is stiffer than an open-weave basket of the same size. It is not rigid, though; heavy items left in it over time will flatten the walls.
Is every basket the same colour?
No. The vine is unbleached and undyed, so the tone runs from pale straw to warm tan and deepens with age and light. Two baskets ordered together will not match exactly.
Styling Tip

Every basket is coiled by hand, so size, colour and weave density vary a little from the measurements above. That is the material, not a fault.
